University of Manitoba
Brand Development

‘New Media’ was the term used for digital content when I worked at Clark Communications (now Forward Media). Part of my role there included being on the team that developed the University of Manitoba “Crest” brand and style guide.

These files were exported for print, mounted onto large Foamcore boards for a presentation, and then converted to PDF files for use on the website.

MailChimp

Here are examples of various MailChimp campaigns. Multiple audiences are maintained.  They are broken down into segments for more targeted mailing.  Customized automated emails can be set to go out based on triggers saved in our member management tool.

Ads for Print

These ads are set up for runs in different publications.  I gained extensive experience creating and placing ads when I was a Yearbook Consultant for Friesens.

Wellness Social Content

Each post is written, has the brand applied and is tailored to the proper dimensions for the Wellness Institute’s social channels.

My experience with photography, videography and graphic design is key to this professional-looking content.

360 Virtual Tour

My photography skills were put to the test with this project.  I shot, processed, uploaded and mapped over 200 images into the Google Maps platform for this Virtual Tour.  This allows potential members to do a walk-through before even coming down.

Video

Video grabs far more attention online than text or static images. Here are some video projects I’ve shot, produced, and uploaded to YouTube.

During the pandemic’s beginning, our fitness studio became a video production studio. Our videos are now available through our Weight Loss for Health Online system, the Wellness Institute App.

Items Designed to
Print In-House

Not every project requires sending files to an external printer.  Many can be done in-house when set up to run on standard paper sizes.

These files are created using In-Design, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Digital Signage

Set up in 1920×1080 resolution, these graphics are tailored to display on digital signs throughout Seven Oaks General Hospital’s digital sign network.  Uploaded and managed through a browser-based tool, RevelDigital, I sourced the hardware and worked with facility services to get this long-running project off the ground for a fraction of the cost of other hospital sign networks.

Podcasts

These are files from the Wellness Podcasts program.  They were created partly to support a safeathomemb.ca grant at the beginning of the pandemic.  Five months after beginning to develop content, the administration changed, and priority was given to other projects. Ultimately, the subscription to the podcast hosting service was cancelled, the files and player no longer work, and the page was pulled.

To the right are examples of previously published podcasts, now hosted on darink.ca. There is also a link to the temporarily re-published Wellness Institute Podcast page; please note that the podcast files are not available on the page.
